          Butler County residents affected by the Memorial Day weekend tornado, and flooding that occurred afterward, have been granted an extension for disaster food stamps.  Senator Chuck Graslsey’s office released the information Thursday.

          A Parkersburg woman is one of 14 Iowans named to the Rebuild Iowa Advisory Commission.  Amy Truax is co-owner of an insurance agency.  The commission is charged with developing short and long-term strategies for rebuilding the state in the wake of this year’s severe weather.  Iowa National Guard Adjutant General Ron Dardis is the comission’s chairman.


     CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - Floodwaters that damaged the Mother
Mosque in Cedar Rapids are just the latest challenge for the oldest
mosque in North America. The mosque's imam (ih-MAHM') says its
story has always been one of survival and the flooding is just
another hurdle to overcome.
 
     CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - The director of the Cedar Rapids
library says it will be at least one year before the downtown
library reopens. The library was damaged in flooding last month and
officials say plans are in the works to rent a former store to
house the library in the interim.
 
     OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A group of Boy Scouts who were at a camp hit
by a deadly tornado will get to meet President Bush in Washington
at the end of the month. The Boy Scouts say the trip is for the
Scouts who attended the leadership camp in Little Sioux, Iowa. Four
boys were killed when a tornado struck the camp June 11.
 
     SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) - A Sioux City woman who runs an in-home
day care center been charged with shaking a baby in her care.
Police say Amy Sunclades was charged with child endangerment and
neglect of a dependent person.
