 WATERLOO-HOMECOMING
Flood-weary Waterloo Bucks return to home stadium

WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - The Waterloo Bucks, a summer league team
made up of college players, returned to its home park last weekend.
That's after six weeks of forced exile.
The Bucks hadn't played at Riverfront Stadium since the Cedar
River spilled over its banks in early June and flooded out the
park. It turned the first half of the season into one long road
trip and left management scrambling to save the 62-year-old park.
Team owner John Marso says the flood cost the team nearly
$300,000 in lost revenue. That's about half what it takes in during
a typical season, which runs from late May until the middle of
August.
The Bucks lost 16 home dates. They also played six games at a
nearby high school.
