Volunteers and selected Democratic Party activists thrilled to a visit to Democratic headquarters in Marshalltown Wednesday by President Bill Clinton. President Clinton was there to rally the troops and encourage volunteers to help get out the early vote for Hillary Clinton prior to November 8th. It was not a formal stop on the campaign trail but word of the visit was circulating the audience at Tuesday nights political debate at M-C-C sponsored by the T-R. The Campaign stops for President Clinton included Simpson College at Indianola and the Cattle Congress at Waterloo. Still it was a thrill for the locals who were on hand such as Luisa Ortega a Democratic Candidate for County Auditor/Recorder who put a couple of pictures up on Facebook including one of the campaign bus surrounded by virtually no vehicles at the parking lot of the mall where Democratic headquarters is housed at the Marshalltown Mall. Also getting his picture taken on Facebook in a dual person selfie was Grant Sincox who works at Marshalltown Waterworks. The Iowa State Daily newspaper in Ames reported that President Clinton also made a surprise visit to a Starbucks coffee shop on Wednesday.
