South Hardin senior Danae Nelson has qualified for the 1A State tennis tourney.

The Ames girls’ tennis team is sending two doubles pairs and one singles player to the individual state tournament after yesterday’s regional in Fort Dodge.

Ballard’s Katie Rietz also won a regional title and earned her spot at the state meet yesterday.

At yesterday’s 1A Region 4 singles and doubles tournament Nelson won each of the first three rounds to earn a spot in the regional finals and an automatic bid to the state tournament.

GC/G-R’s season came to an end with no state tournament qualifiers.
