A busy two and a half hour Marshalltown City Council meeting on Tuesday; Among the items, there was discussion about the building that houses the Senior Citizens Center. The City is the owner of the building, that is need of major repairs and upgrade, especially for ADA work by the year 2020. City Administrator Jessica Kinser made it clear that the issues are with the building itself and not with the Agencies.

The Council also made it clear that the City staff should work with the Senior Citizen’s Agency, as well as the Northeast Iowa Area on Aging, the two tenants, to help determine when and where the Center should be located between now and the end of 2019.
