Approximately 50 people gathered in Marshalltown last night to listen to two organizers about how immigrants of any classification may be able to deal with potential deportations, as well as learn about rights when dealing with enforcement agents, especially in light of the state’s new anti-sancturay law. Salvador Cervantes is with the Fair Immigration Reform Movement. He shared that even there is power in community organizations and immigrants, undocumented or not, should know their rights.

Immigrant Allies of Marshalltown and Iowa Citizens for Community Action sponsored the forum. Other forums will be held in Des Moines and Iowa City.
