Putting a redevelopment plan for the  area is ready to move forward, thanks to a one-hundred thousand dollar grant from the Martha Ellen Tye Foundation for development of a master plan. With that Grant, the City will be able to apply for state matching grant to put a total of two hundred thousand dollars towards the plan.

The City Council also approved re-allocation of 40-thousand dollars from façade renovation to the general fund for the Central Business District so the CBD may assist all downtown properties, not just those for current CBD members.
