Hops…no we’re not talking about Dr. Suess’ Hop On Pop, but an important ingredient when it comes to brewing a nice cold one.

Tama County Women are hosting a program on Hops In Iowa; From the Field To the Taps Tuesday night at the Traer Public Library. Melody Bro shares one speaker will be Keri Byrum, whose family produces about five varieties of the grain.

Also speaking will be Nick Newgard of second Street Brewing in Cedar Falls. Dessert and registration begins at 6:30, the program is at eight. It is a free program and you are asked to register by Monday.
