The Iowa Valley Community College District is asking for your support next Tuesday, to vote “yes” on a 32-million dollar General Obligation Bond ti improve building, enhance security, expand and improve STEM related programs and to help provide a steady flow of workers throughout the district. The list of improvements needing attention is long, but District Chief Financial Officer Kathy Pink says the cost to taxpayers, spread out over ten years will be less that the levy rate was in 2017.
If approved, it will add approximately $40.52 per year to your tax bill for ten years.
In addition to MCC, the District includes Ellsworth Community College, Iowa Valley Grinnell and the Continuing Education Center in Marshalltown.
