Marshalltown firefighters responded to a house fire just before 1:30 this morning in the 200 block of South 6th Street.
The FIre was shooting from the rear of the residence,m but after forcing their way inside, no one was found in the house.
The fire was primarily in the kitchen with heat and smoke damage to the rest of the structure.
No injuries were reported.
