Democratic State Representative Mark Smith of Marshalltown announced over the weekend that he will not seek re-election next year. Mark will join us for the Tuesday edition of Central Iowa Today on 1230 KFJB to discuss his decision.

and with this November elections just weeks away, it will just be a matter of weeks after that and the Iowa Legislature will be back in session. Smith shares that being representatives of the people does keep them busy from one session to the next.

The Iowa Legislature begins its session every year on the second Monday of January.
