The pending cold snap has the City of Ames busy trying to prepare its parks for the change of seasons.
Ames Park & Rec staff say the drinking fountains will be shut down throughout the park system starting today. That of course, the first step to winterizing all the water lines. The process of closing the restrooms will begin on October 20th, weather permitting.
