The possibility of bicyclists having to choose between the old and the new next summer is causing tongues to wag across the state and beyond this morning.

The four Des Moines Register employees who were in charge of Ragbrai resigned yesterday, with RAGBRAI director T.J. Juskiewicz saying the decision was based on how The Register and its owner handled its story about Carson King. The four have already lined up an organization called Iowa Rides which is planning an event the same week as RAGBRAI. The Register later issued a statement that RAGBRAI would continue as well next summer.
