A Tuesday night standoff was just part of a day-long pursuit of an attempted murder suspect.
Just after midnight Tuesday morning, officers were called to a report of a shooting at 711 N. 4th Avenue. The victim, George Sims Jr. was eventually taken to a Des Moines hospital where he is listed in good condition.
Marshalltown Police Captain Brain Batterson says that led into 24 hours of investigating.
Joseph Bown was arrested for the attempted murder of Sims, Jr. and other charges. The occupant of the house searched, Robert Fite, Jr. was arrested on a parole violation and charged with accessory after the fact in connection with the shooting. Batterson says no shots, aside from the initial murder attempt, were fired.
