An argument apparently turned into a murder and an attempted suicide yesterday in Story County.

The Sheriff’s Department said a neighbor called police after a man told them he had just killed his wife in Zearing. The man had suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center for treatment.

The names of the couple are expected to be released later today. Sheriff Paul Fitzgerald says the couple were longtime residents of Zearing, calling it a very sad situation for everyone.
