A Zearing man has been charged with second-degree murder after he told a neighbor yesterday he had killed his wife.

The neighbor called police who then detained Gary Pillman and sent him to the hospital with arm lacerations. The Story County Sheriff’s Department then found Betty Pillman’s body outside of their home. The initial investigation indicates it may have been a domestic dispute that got out of hand. Gary Pillman is being held in the Story County Jail.
