It may be a new year, but some of the same old scams are still hanging around.

Marshalltown Police says there have been recent reports of assorted telephone and internet scams.

You know the kind; folks call and tell you they’re with the IRS, or you’ve won this, that or the other, or that a loved one is in serious trouble and needs help NOW.

Remember, don’t give any personal or financial info out. If you think you’ve been scammed, call the police and report it.
