Next week, it begins, the 2020 Iowa Legislative Session. Among those heading for the capitol, Democratic State Representative Mark Smith. Among the issues he is watching includes the raising of the state sales tax by three-eighths of a cent. Smith says he is in favor of that increase.

Smith says he will also be watching, as he has during his time in the House, for the opportunity to continue to address any mental health issues for Iowans, especially the training of mental health professionals.
