A work session this week discussed the possibility of expansion at the Marshalltown Public Library. A building architect talked about the possibilities and the potential cost. City Councilor Bill Martin says the main need is an area for the tween/teen age group.

The anticipated expense is around $1.6 million dollars. The majority of the cost could be covered by fundraising. The Council will determine how much the City would allocate towards the project.
