The Marshall County Board of Supervisors grappled with compensation for the elected county officials during the next fiscal year at yesterday’s meeting.

The Compensation Board recommended four percent increases for The Auditor/Recorder, Attorney, Sheriff, Treasurer and Supervisors. Dave Thompson’s motion to adjust it down to two and a half percent died for lack of a second. Bill Patten then moved to adjust the figure to three percent, as elected officials are all salaried positions, and do not receive overtime pay.

After further discussion, Patten’s motion was passed by the Board.
