Fraudsters in Brazil have reached out and touched some debit card accounts at Members1^st Community Credit Union.

In a message on its website, Members1^st posted the following:

“We have detected fraudulent transactions on several members’ debit cards that originate from Brazil.

If you notice any fraudulent transactions on your MEMBERS1st debit card, please call 800-600-5249, press 1 and then select option 3.

As an added precaution, we encourage all debit card holders to temporarily turn-off your debit card using our free mobile banking app

1. Open the MEMBERS1st mobile app and login
2. Click on the hamburger menu (3 bars in the lower right corner)
3. Click on “Manage My Cards”
4. Click on “Temporarily lock this card”

When you want to make a purchase with your debit card, simply complete the steps above to turn your card back on. Then, once your transaction is complete, turn your card back off.”
