With the revelation of 86 cases at the Tyson Plant in Columbus Junction, there are now 1,899 cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Iowa, Those 86 part of the 189 new cases announced yesterday.
SIx more deaths were reported as well, making that number now 49. Three of the 49 deaths have been in Tama County, which has 108 confirmed cases of the virus.
Marshall County now reports a total of 42, Jasper County 15 and Story County 11.
The Story County Board of Supervisors has voted to send a resolution to Governor Reynolds urging her to issue a shelter-in-place or stay-at-home ordinance.
The Ames Tribune reports the action was recommended by the Story County Board of Health.
The Governor has repeatedly rejected issuing such an order, saying Iowa’s are being responsible and so it is not needed.
