Firefighters in Ames have been busy for the past couple of days.
A Wednesday night blaze caused roughly $7,500 in damage to a townhome in the 1400 block of Truman Place. Electrical in nature, the fire was contained to a first floor bathroom and second floor bedroom. No one was injured.
Yesterday afternoon, the firefighters responded to a duplex fire on the 400 block of East 14th Street. There was extensive damage to the duplex and the neighboring unit suffered smoke damage, all adding up to about $75,000 in damage. No injuries reported, but two families have been displaced by the blaze, which was determined to be accidental.
