One of PBS’ highest-rated programs, the National Memorial Day Concert, is set to air with some changes this year.  Typically filmed from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., this year will instead feature performances and tributes filmed throughout the country in accordance with physical distancing guidelines due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The show will be co-hosted for the seventh year by Tony Award-winner Joe Mantegna (of “Criminal Minds”) and Emmy Award-winner Gary Sinise (of CSI: New York”), who have both dedicated themselves to veteran’s causes and supporting our troops in active service. This year, the National Memorial Day Concert will also celebrate the heroes on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Set to appear are Trace Adkins, General Colin L. Powell, Cynthia Erivo, Renée Fleming, CeCe Winans, Kelli O’Hara, Christopher Jackson, Mary McCormack, members of the National Symphony Orchestra and more.

The National Memorial Day Concert will air on PBS Sunday, May 24 at 7 p.m. CT..  The concert also will stream on Facebook, YouTube and pbs.org.
