Most Iowa businesses that were closed or restricted because of COVID-19 will be allowed to reopen on Friday May 15th according to Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds at a press conference this morning.
The lessening of restrictions will apply to all Iowa counties, including the 22 that have been under heavier restrictions. There will be limitations on occupancy for dine-in customers.
Restaurant and fitness centers, will be able to reopen with continued restrictions. The governor also said salons, barber shops and massage therapy businesses may reopen statewide with restrictions.
Bars, theaters, casinos and gaming facilities, senior centers and adult daycare facilities, bingo halls, bowling alleys, pool halls, arcades and amusement parks, museums, aquariums and zoos, skating rinks and skate parks, playgrounds, swimming pools and door-to-door sales are all prohibited until at least May 27.
