Following consecutive heartbreaking losses for Chase Elliott, he finally secured his first NASCAR Cup Series win of the season. Elliott grabbed the checkered flag last night in the Alsco Uniforms 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Elliott took the lead in the second Cup Series race of the week at Charlotte Motor Speedway with 28 laps to go.
Rain continued to plague drivers at Charlotte Motor Speedway during this fourth race back since the restart of the 2020 season. Following a 68-minute delay on Sunday, Wednesday night’s race had to be postponed to Thursday night and the forecast still found a way to muck things up, with yet another delay affecting the Thursday race that nearly lasted deep into the evening.
The Cup Series now heads to Bristol Motor Speedway as Food City presents the Supermarket Heroes 500, on Sunday, May 31 with coverage beginning at 1:30 on KIX 101.1.
