Roughly one thousand protesters were met by a contingent of law enforcement last night as both groups met at Terrace Hill, home of Governor Kim Reynolds. The protesters met at the downtown Sculpture Park and made the one mile trek to the Governor’s mansion. The protesters urged the Governor to go out and speak with them.

In Ames, the Ames Tribune reports that a couple of hundred people took part in a “Kneel With Us” event at City Hall, including some area law enforcement officers. Among those at the event, ISU Football Coach matt Campbell and some ISU football players.

In Iowa City, more vandalism was reported as hundreds of protesters marched to various locations in the community.

Demonstrators also gathered at the Black Hawk County Jail and marched around downtown Waterloo. Some of the protestors said tear gas was used to disperse them.
