While some parts of Polk County received at least an inch of rain yesterday, it was pretty dry in Ames and Marshalltown. Only a trace of rain officially reported in Ames, with .06 of an inch in Marshalltown.
On Saturday, Dennis Todey of the USDA Midwest Climate Hub noted that as of Saturday, the 30 day total of precip in Marshalltown was .21 inches, the second driest all time. The next chance of rain looks to be Thursday.
