The classic sitcom “Who’s the Boss?” is coming back, with Tony Danza and Alyssa Milano reprising their father-daughter roles for a reboot of the series that ran from 1984 to 1992. Norman Lear will be the show’s executive producer.

Sony Pictures Television confirmed the reboot, saying in a statement that the new version of Who’s the Boss? “will explore generational differences, as well as opposing world views and parenting styles within the dynamic of a modern family in 2020.”

Milano and Danza also posted the news the news on their own social media pages. “Here we go,” Danza tweeted, and Milano also tweeted that she is “so excited,” adding, “we feel the time is right to tell the story of where these amazing characters are today. Can’t wait to share their stories with you. So happy.”

Danza will reprise his role, but now as a retired housekeeper, while Milano will play a single mother who live in the home where the original series was set. Judith Light and Danny Pintauro, who appeared in the original series, have decided not to return for the new series. Katherine Helmond, who played Light’s mother in the series, died in February 2019 year at the age of 89.
