Marshalltown school buildings remain closed as of 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 12, due to ongoing power outages. We are aware that utility crews are working around the clock to restore power not only to our buildings but to the entire Marshalltown Community. We will share an update as soon as power is restored and our buildings can reopen.

Like so much of Marshalltown and Central Iowa, our school buildings and grounds did sustain some damage from the storm Monday. MCSD staff have been working incredibly hard to identify damage and clean up debris at District buildings and grounds. That work is ongoing, and we are still collecting information on the damage that was done.

We know how strong and resilient the Marshalltown Community is, and we are happy to once again see neighbors helping neighbors after an unfortunate weather event. Our collective desire to work together on recovery is just one of the many things that makes Marshalltown a great place to live. We are with you. #MarshalltownStrong
