OK, it’s been two weeks since the derecho, but after hundreds of thousands of power outages, the Alliant number system wide is now to 1,392 this morning. 21 of those in Central Iowa, 1,317 remain without power in Cedar Rapids. Great work by the utility workers on the proverbial line.

A big weekend in the wrong way for COVID-19 numbers. Since Saturday morning, 1,110 new cases reported statewide for a total of 56,441.  Story County now has the dubious distinction of the most cases in our immediate area. 14 more for a to-date total of 1,569, two more than Marshall County that reported a dozen new cases over the weekend.

Seven new fatalities make that state wide total 1,037.
