The positivity rate continues to creep up when it comes to COVID testing in the state. The rate inched up to 10.6 percent after another 529 cases were added since midday yesterday. The state total now at 72,549. 31 more cases in Story County for 3,044, seven in Grundy County for 161.

Two deaths added to the statewide count, which is now at 1,208.

The Story County Board of Supervisors placed a hold on the issue of a mask mandate yesterday. The Board decided to seek additional legal advice before voting on the issue of face coverings. The county attorney’s office advised the Board to hold off until the Governor’s office grants counties the option of fining folks for violations. Governor Reynolds has consistently said she would not issue a statewide mask mandate.
