The Meskwaki Nation will receive $766,000 over three years to respond and improve the prevention of violence against Native women.

The grant through the U.S. Department Of Justice’s Resources for Indigenous Survivors and Empowerment program will help hire a full-time case manager, a part-time police officer specializing in domestic violence and provide transitional housing and education.

The grant was announced by Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer.
