Another big number for new COVID cases in the state as of this (Saturday) morning. 2,227 added since midday yesterday, the grand total now closing in on 127,000.

Marshall County reported 36 new cases, Story County 34 and Jasper County 29. All seven of the counties we track were in double digits for new cases. The state’s positivity testing rate now at 13.1 percent.

8 new deaths up that grand total to date to 1,714.

630 Iowans spent the night in the hospital, another new record, with 153 in ICU.
