Top-ranked Grundy Center advanced to the state high school football semi-finals by knocking off defending state champ West Hancock 20 to 145 last night in Britt. The Spartans will face County Bluffs St. Albert at 12:30 Friday in the semis in the Uni-Dome.

West Marshall came up just shy of a trip to the Dome, losing 21-20 to undefeated PCM in the 1A quarterfinals.

Grinnell was denied a spot in the semis, as Cedar Rapids Xavier advanced with a 21-7 win over the Tigers.
