The Iowa defense did its thing while Tyler Goodson rushed for two scores and 142 yards enroute to a 35-7 win at Minnesota to keep Floyd of Rosedale’s accommodations in Iowa City.
The main takeaway was the time out saga at game’s end.
Gopher coach P.J. Fleck called a timeout in the final seconds to try to help get the Gophers in the end zone, and Hawkeyes coach Kirk Ferentz fired back by using all three of his in a row.
Ferentz’s comment?
“Figured we’d take Floyd with us and leave the timeouts here,” Ferentz said coyly.
The Hawkeyes head for Happy Valley next Saturday to take on Penn State.
