Governor Kim Reynolds announced Monday night new mitigation guidelines in an attempt to slow down the spread of COVID-19 that some say is putting some Iowa hospitals on the verge of overload.
The Governor announced that beginning at midnight Monday, anyone 2 years or older in an indoor public space that is open and if they will be within six feet of people who are not members of their household for 15 minutes or more.
The Governor also reduced the limits of people gathered for social and other gatherings to 15 indoors and 30 outside. All non-school related extra circular activities are suspended. Bars and restaurants will be required to close after 10:00 p.m. as well.
Governor Reynolds stated these efforts would be reviewed in one week.
