2020 will not really be remembered for helping set all kinds of great records, but so far, it has been a very good year for the sale of live Christmas trees.

Ryan Pfantz of the Victorian Pines Christmas Tree Farm near State Center says the past weekend set a record, with sales up 22 percent over a year ago. This is also the second year that Victorian Pines opened for business the Friday before Thanksgiving.

Pfantz says the only downside right now is that the current crop of trees was planted between 2010 and 2012, which weren’t exactly great growing seasons.
