It came down to the wire, but the community again stepped forward in the midst of a pandemic, lifting the Marshalltown Area United Way to its campaign goal of $780,000. Executive Director Nancy Steveson says after a year of COVID and a derecho, it was nip and tuck getting to that total.

Allocations for the 27 United Way agencies helped by your donations will be determined next week. For Steveson, she will be handing over the reins to new director Kendra Sorenson and the 2021 campaign will be led by co-chairs Kris and Shannon Naughton of ServiceMaster.
