Marshalltown seniors Carson Williams and Julian Gomez both posted first round wins at the State Wrestling Tourney in Des Moines yesterday. Williams will take on Linn-Mar’s Luke Gaffney in today’s 220 quarters, while Gomez will tangle with Norwalk’s Maddux Borcherding-Johnson at 285.

Also in 3A, Ames’ Gabe Greenlee and Brent Slade won first round matches.

East Marshall/GMG’s Dominik Ridout, Samuel Bandstra and COnner Murty all advanced in 2A, As Did South Tama;s Logan Arp and Mason Askelsen.
