Down the road in Iowa City, Fran McCaffery has inked a four year extension, which goes through the 27-28 season.

McCaffery’s annual base salary of $2.3 million for the next two seasons will remain unchanged. He took a 15 percent pay cut for this year to help the athletic department offset shortfalls caused by the pandemic. He is on track to receive longevity bonuses at the end of the next two seasons.

The team is a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will play Grand Canyon on Friday in Indianapolis.
