The Iowa Premium plant in Tama will be expanded to help it process more than double the number of cattle it processes daily.
National Beef Packing Company announced an investment of more than $100 million dollars will allow the plant to harvest 25-hundred head a day. The project is expected to be completed in 2022 and add several hundred additional jobs. Right now, the plant employs more than 800 and processes 11-hundred Black Angus cattle per day.
