Ames Police Department’s Safe Neighborhoods Team conducted alcohol compliance checks of local licensed liquor establishments late last week.  Forty-eight establishments were checked. Fourteen establishments sold alcohol to an underage person. And in the process, a total of 14 employees were cited for selling alcohol to an underage person. The total fine, including the surcharge and court costs, for this violation is $796.75. This project was completed with collaboration and grant monies provided by the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division.
