Marshalltown springer Deonte Dean earned a berth in the state track and field meet in winning both the 100 and 200-meter dashes yesterday at Cedar Rapids Kennedy. Dean was also part of the state-qualifying 4 x 100-meter relay team.

East Marshall’s Ellie Hull made it to state in both the 800 and 15-hundred meter runs, while West Marshall’s Luke Pinnick placed second in the shot.

North Tama’s Grace Lidgett won the 15-hundred and 3,000 run, while also helping the Redhawk distance medley relay to state qualifying. Teammate Rylee McLean advanced in the discus.

Lizzie Garber anchored two BCLUW relay teams to wins and also qualified for state in the 100-meters. On the boys side, Connor Lynch advanced to state in the 800 and was part of the 4 x 800-meter relay team which qualified for state.
