Memorial Day isn’t for another week yet but law enforcement agencies across the state are launching a special traffic enforcement effort today that’ll run two full weeks. Genie Sterbenz, spokeswoman for the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau, says the familiar program is focused on getting Iowans to wear their seatbelts.

Sterbens notes they’ll also be watching for impaired driving and speeding and other violations that are known to cause crashes. The latest Click It or Ticket campaign will run from May 24th through June 6th.
