A Nevada Police officer has received the 2020 Officer of the year award for communities of 10,000 or less by the Iowa Police Chief’s Association.
Officer Ryan Hutton was submitted for the reward by his Sergeant, Andrew Henderson. Henderson cited Hutton’s effort to engage the community during the pandemic, through the use of community policing activities like a COVID Mask parody for Halloween, setting up a drive-in movie and a Draw A Snowman contest. Hutton says he really enjoys any opportunity to work with the community.
