Today’s severe weather chances remind us that we have become more and more reliant on our devices to get weather alerts or other emergency information. Marshall County Emergency Management Coordinator Kim Elder reminds us that the vendor for Alert Iowa is changing…and yes texts and voice calls were made last week to let you know that change would be happening the first of July.

Elder says don’t let the new system overwhelm you with some of the questions asking, noting all you really need to enter is your name address and how you want to receive the alerts. To find out more, the easiest way is to Google Alert Iowa and follow the links.
