A 20-year Marine Corps Veteran has been named Commandant of the Iowa Veteran’s Home. Governor Kim Reynolds has tabbed Major Matthew Peterson as the new head of the state’s largest long-term care facility as of today.
Since retiring from the Corps, Peterson oversaw a working ranch while being the Executive Director of a non-profit and a high school teacher.
Peterson succeeds Timon Ouijuri, who was relieved of his duties back in May.
