This is the weekend to do some back-to-school shopping or just some apparel shopping in general. It’s the Iowa Tax-Free Holiday. Iowa Department of Revenue spokesman, John Fuller, says it was started to help parents shopping for back-to-school items, and is very popular.

Fuller says the department estimates that Iowans saved about four-point-six million dollars in sales tax last year alone. according to Fuller.
