Former President Donald Trump has endorsed Republican Chuck Grassley’s bid for an eighth term in the U.S. Senate. Trump made the announcement this weekend during a rally in Des Moines.

Grassley cited the recent Des Moines Register Iowa Poll which the vast majority of Iowa Republicans have a favorable view of Trump.

Jim Carlin of Sioux City, a state senator who describes himself as a pro-Trump Republican, has been campaigning against Grassley and attended Trump’s rally on Saturday.
